When records are purged from the Audit Trail (or deleted from any data file), the records are removed from the file but the file size is not changed (reduced) by Pervasive. Adding new records will fill up the space left behind by deleting/purging the records, you will not see the physical file size change until all the empty space is filled, and the physical file size must grow in order to accommodate the additional data entered.
