Shortcuts for Orion and Microsoft Windows

Keyboard shortcuts are useful and can save valuable time, and most people do not take advantage of them. Along with speeding up many of your daily processes, these shortcuts can also help reduce the amount of time spent trying to find menus and toolbars which are often hidden.

 

Orion has many shortcuts designed to make your daily tasks run more smoothly. These Orion specific shortcuts are listed below. There is also a list to help you navigate Windows with greater ease.

 

Orion’s Keyboard Shortcuts

 

+ Increase displayed date by one day
_ Decrease displayed date by one day
T Insert today’s date in the Date field
M Insert the first day of the month in the Date field
H Insert the last day of the month in the Date field
Y Insert the first day of the year in the Year field
R Insert the last day of the year in the Date field
INS Insert a new record
Crtl F Do a Find, and display a Find search box
Crtl Q Do a Quick Doc
Crtl Del Perform a delete
F5 Refresh the screen

 

Windows Keyboard Shortcuts


Alt Enter Display properties for the selected item
Alt Esc Cycle through items in order by open
Alt F4 Close the active item
Alt Space Open the shortcut menu
Crtl A Select all Records
Crtl C Copy selected item
Crtl V Paste selected item
Crtl X Cut the selected item
Crtl Y Redo an action
Crtl Z Undo last action
Crtl Shift Select a range of records
Crtl Shift N Create a new folder
F1 Display help
F2 Rename the item
F5 Refresh the screen
Windows B Change from Windows to System Tray
Windows E Launch Windows Explorer
Windows M Minimize all Windows for quick access to desktop
Windows R Display the Run command

CRTL-Alt-Delete

When using a computer with Microsoft® Windows operating system, holding down “CTRL-ALT-DEL” will either launch Windows Task Manager, or a list of options including Task Manager. Task Manager is useful for closing programs that are not operating correctly or become unresponsive. Plus, you are able to see what programs are running on your computer and identify if any of these may be slowing it down.
