What is the correct way to handle “Stop Payment Transactions” in Orion?
In Orion, there is a procedure to follow regarding Client stop payment transactions. Following these steps will ensure that the Client’s A/R ledger reflects what was added back to/billed to that account, it posts the proper transactions to the General Ledger (reduces the bank account), and updates the bank reconciliation.
In AR Manager, locate the transaction (record number) of the Payment. You can also find the record number by double clicking on the payment on the AR Ledger in Matter Status…

What are some useful new features of Orion’s Practice Management System?
If you are using Orion’s Practice Management Software, there are 2 new features available to you in 2014. The first involves the User Record and includes four new fields under the “Other” tab. These include Gender, Direct Dial, Fax and Complimentary Close.
Many of you will find this useful, as previously a separate template needed to be created for each user if they wanted their direct dial phone number on the document instead of the main phone line. Now, a template can be created which will insert this field for you. Also, the email field underneath the general tab was also added as an additional field to be used in document template creation…

Orion backup procedures are compatible with most backup hardware and software products. The process is very easy to perform and extremely reliable. In this article, we will look at the recommended methods and procedures used to backup Orion databases and review an alternative backup solution.

The brand and version of your chosen backup software is rarely a factor in backing up Orion. Orion is compatible with virtually any backup product that supports conventional backup technologies. The exclusion to this is any product solution that provides for backing up files while they are in use. This type of solution cannot ensure database integrity or consistency and is not supported.
