Registration for the 2014 Orion User Group Conference is now open! This two and a half day event will take place Monday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 22 (half day) and will be held at the Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort in Stone Mountain Park, Georgia.
Orion’s User Conference offers clients an exceptional chance to participate/integrate with fellow users while elevating their knowledge of Orion’s software. The focus of the conference will be on education in the form of general sessions and break-out sessions. How can I move Trust Funds from one Bank Account to another?
Have you ever been in the situation where you need to move trust funds from one bank account to another and/or have you changed trust bank accounts and have set-up a new bank code for that trust bank? Below, we outline the proper procedure for handling this in Orion.
In AR Manager, one way to move trust funds to a new bank is through a TDS – “Trust Disbursement Entry” – to take funds off of a Client Matter on the old bank and then a TDP – “Trust Deposit Entry” – to deposit funds back in to the right bank on same Client Matter. (Normally this will be completed if a wire transfer or online bank transaction was used)…

How can I print an Event Report showing my Appointments and Calendar Items from Orion’s Calendar Manager?
If your firm is licensed for and using Orion’s Practice Management software, you may print your Event Report by clicking on the Calendar Manager icon and then selecting Print and choosing Event Report.
If you don’t see the Calendar Manager icon, you may right click on the Orion Side Bar and choose Customize. Highlight Desktop and then highlight/select Calendar Manager and drag it to your Orion Side Bar. Click on Calendar Manager, Click on Print, Choose Event Report, Fill out appropriate prompts and Click OK…

I. Cloud Computing Defined
A. Vagueness: Cloud computing is a rather vague term that covers several concepts. Within the scope of legal technology, it most often refers to Software-As-A-Service (“SaaS”), but is not limited to the SaaS definition below. There are a ridiculous number of definitions of SaaS. One thing that is perfectly clear about cloud computing is that NOTHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN THE CLOUDS. No computerized processing occurs in the stratosphere. Cloud computing merely means that the server, hosting the “system” is NOT in your physical office and you are completely dependent on a good, solid internet connection to access that system via a variety of modern internet connection models…
