New! iOrion® for iOS7

iOrion® has been launched for Apple’s newest operating system, iOS7. iOrion was originally released on the App Store earlier this year. It is one of the most complete iOS apps available for financial and practice management. Along with a new look and feel to match the iOS7 theme, we’ve added “Quick Picks” for Time Entry. This allows the user to record their billable time even more quickly. We’ve also made enhancements to improve the app’s speed and performance.

Interested in getting iOrion at your firm? Make sure to watch our iOrion Demo, and contact the Support Desk for more information.

Pervasive Update for Version 9 Users

Your Orion software utilizes a sophisticated Pervasive SQL database to store and retrieve your firm’s data. Like Orion, Pervasive SQL continues to be enhanced through periodic updates that improve performance and data integrity. The current release of Pervasive SQL is version 11. (This is the version currently installed for most of Orion’s clients). We have reached a stage in development where we wish to incorporate features into Orion that can only be supported by the latest version of Pervasive SQL. With this in mind we wish to advise you that we can no longer provide product updates to customers using Pervasive 9 after March 31, 2014. We wanted to provide you this date well in advance, so that you may begin budgeting as necessary.

Please see the letter that was mailed to our clients currently using Pervasive 9, or contact the Support Desk to obtain upgrade pricing information.

Preparing for 1099 Processing

Processing and creating 1099 Forms is done once a year and can be a challenging task. Procedures performed on a daily, weekly or monthly basis are easy to remember. Those performed only once per year require “refreshing” your memory every time you need to use the procedure. The key to making the production of 1099 Forms easier and less stressful is in setting up vendors correctly on the front end and in knowing how to get the most out of the 1099 processing program.

Tech Tip

Hidden Security Risks –
Tips to Help Secure Copier Hard Drives

The legal industry represents the second largest market for copier vendors. As you all know, law firms are constantly printing and making copies. It is also common knowledge that computers store information on hard disk drives, but did you know that your copy machine has the ability to do that as well?
