We are excited to announce the opening of registration for the 2014 Orion User Conference. This two and a half day event will take place Monday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 22 (half day) and will be held at the Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort in Stone Mountain Park, Georgia.

The focus of the conference will be on education in the form of general sessions and break-out sessions. Where do I go to define or double check User short-cut keys in Orion?
If you are having an issue with short cuts not working for a user, the first item to check is to make sure the Default keymap is defined in the User record itself. You may access this by going to File Maintenance/Tools/ Manage Users. Double click on the User record in question and on the General Tab make sure Default is in the User keys field…

Orion’s Exchange Sync software enables real-time synchronization of contacts, tasks (to-do’s) and calendar items (appointments) between Orion’s Practice Management System and Microsoft Outlook via direct access to Microsoft Exchange. Less Paper Means More Productivity For Your Law Firm

When lawyers and law firm staff are asked about their biggest frustration, managing volumes of paper is at the top of their list. Paper files have become problematic in today’s technologically driven law firms. People spend hours of unproductive time filing away and then, later, looking for paper.
Reducing the inefficiencies inherent in paper files requires three categories of technology. First, the paper must be converted to digital format, preferably PDF, using a scanner. Second, there must be a way to store, organize, and retrieve the digitized documents using a Document Management System (DMS) such as Worldox. Finally, for portable use, there must be a way to read and annotate PDF documents, such as the new Sony Digital Paper device…
