Coming Soon! Three New Reports
In case you missed our previous announcement, three new reports are being added as Orion Standard Reports in the upcoming release. A brief description for each is below.
Inactive Client Report – Located under Client-Matter Reports, the Inactive Clients Report is similar to the existing Inactive Matters Report, except activity is checked at the Client level rather than the Matter level. The report provides a means of determining Clients for which there has been no activity since a specified date. When run, the report checks for fees, disbursements, invoices or accounting activity that has occurred since the specified last date of activity. If no activity is found, the Client is listed on the report. The report also tells you the date of the last activity and the type of activity found: fees, disbursements, invoice, accounting, multiple or none.
Override Rate Listing – Located under File Maintenance Reports, the Override Rate Listing Report provides a list of Matters where Override Rates have been assigned. Various sort orders are available and you may choose to print the report for open Matters only. The report will show the Default Rate Code as well as any Override Rates and their current effective value. The report only includes those Matters that have an Override Rate assigned.
GL Budget – Located under General Ledger Reports, the GL Budget is a simple report that allows you to print out your General Ledger Budget for the 12 month period. The default report shows the General Ledger Account Name and the budget for periods 1 through 12.

An attorney needs to take a blank check to court, is there a way I can document this in Orion?
Sometimes an attorney or paralegal may need to take a blank check with them to court in order to pay a court related expense, such as a deed. Most of the time this is an undocumented process, which can lead to problems for you later. There is a way to make sure that the check number, matter information and any other information necessary to that check is entered into Orion at the time the check is given to the attorney. This makes it easier for you to remember to follow-up with them on the check amount, as the check can be held as incomplete…
