The Balances on my Trial Balance do not Match Those on the Trial Balance with Period Range

If the balances on your Trial Balance with Period Range and Trial Balance do not agree (comparing same GL Period), you should first make sure that all transactions for that period have been posted.  If you have verified all transactions are posted, you may need to recalculate your GL Account Balances.  To do this, make sure no one else is in the General Ledger then do the following:

1.  Open the GL Manager and choose TOOLS, System Settings.

2.  Once the System Settings window is displayed, choose TOOLS, Recalculate Account Balances.

3.  Choose the Period from which you want to start the recalculation (recommend starting in period where the problem occurred) and click the RECALCULATE Button.

4.  Once the process has completed, close the System Settings window and re-run your reports.


NOTE:   Never recalculate the previous year.  Always call Orion Support prior to attempting this.
