Filter Tab – Choices on Look Up

Print this article

When Restricted Users are running reports in Orion, they are governed by Proxy Rights. If an User is a Restricted User in Orion, the User will not be able to choose the ALL option on the Filter Tab.

If an User is a Restricted User, then the options on the Filter Tab will be limited to those Timekeepers to whom they have proxy rights, and, by the same token, data in most cases will be limited to those particular Timekeepers for which you are filtering on the Filter Tab (the rule does have some exceptions).  See the below screenshot that shows how your proxy list is the same as your filter look up on the report.

If you need the ALL option you may need to discuss changing the restricted setting on that particular User with your system administrator.

You would need either to make the User Unrestricted, a case in which the User could see and edit time for all Users, or give the User proxy to the additional Users you specifically need. Note giving proxy rights also allows Users to edit time on those Users in Time Manager.

On some reports, such as the Aged Accounts Receivable Report when sorted by Responsible, Originating or Managing Attorney the ALL option is available.

You need to be careful when running reports, if you are a restricted User, to make sure you are not inadvertently filtering out data based on proxy that you do want to include. In some cases, it may be a good idea to have an unrestricted User run the report to compare the results if you have questions regarding the data presented.
