Daily Deposit Report Showing Payments with nothing in Fees or Expense Columns

Print this article

When you save a PMT in Orion without applying it to an invoice, it places the payment in the system in an entered state, and the description/status on the AR transaction will say “Entered remaining to be applied” and lists the amount that remains to be applied.

If you run the Daily Deposit Report at the Payment or Application detail level, and you do not have anything in the fees, expenses, advances, interest or tax columns, it is simply reflecting the fact that the transaction has not been applied. If you want to apply the payment, you may go back into the transaction in AR Manager, right click in the bottom panel that displays the invoices and, choose APPLY.  Click Save, and then rerun your Daily Deposit Report.

Note that your Daily Deposit Report will present saved PMT transactions even if they are not applied and posted.

If you attempt to post a saved but not applied PMT, Orion will automatically change this transaction to an RDP and place it in “unapplied retainer.”  In the case of a RDP transaction, you will never have items in the fees, expenses, advances, interest or tax columns on the Daily Deposit Report as RDP transactions by definition are “unapplied cash” retainer deposits.

You may also run the Unapplied Transactions Listing Report under the AR Transactions listing folder as a cross check for unapplied PMTs.

In order for an AR transaction to show up on your Deposit Processing Report (a different report) and be placed in Bank Reconciliation,  it must be saved and posted and you have to go through the Action/Deposit Processing step in AR Manager to create the deposit.
