Orion allows each individual User to assign a Nickname to a Client-Matter. The User may then search for the Client-Matter in all Client-Matter Look-Up fields by this Nickname rather than by the Client or Matter Name or Number. The Nicknames are stored on the User level and can be added, edited or deleted freely. To create a Nickname from within the Client-Matter Look-Up window, highlight the appropriate Client-Matter, right click and choose the Create/Edit Nickname option. Enter the Nickname you want to assign this Client-Matter and click the OK Button. To delete an existing Nickname, highlight the Matter record with the Nickname, right click and choose the Delete Nickname option.
To search for Client-Matters by Nickname rather than Client-Matter Number or Name, use the LOOK-UP Function in any Client-Matter Look-Up field to display the Look-Up window. Once the Window is displayed, choose the My Matter List Only option. Once you choose this option, your system will always default to this view until you change it back to either the All Matters or Recent Matters Only option. To locate the Client-Matter, sort by the Nickname column and simply type in the assigned Nickname.
