Adding Calendar Manager and Advanced Event Viewer to Side Bar

Print this article

With an upgrade to 4.5, two new features are now available for Users of Practice Management –  Calendar Manager and the Advanced Event Viewer.  To add these to your Orion Side Bar you will need to take the following steps.

You’ll need to figure out which Security Groups you want to be able to access this feature.  To view the Security Group for each User, go into the Orion Administration program and click on User Setup, then Users.  Once the list comes up you can view their Groups under the Security Group heading.  If it is not there, right click anywhere on the Manage Users screen and choose “Select Grid Fields.”  Drag Security Group to where you want it on the grid.

Once you have decided on your groups go back to your main screen and choose Security Groups from the Side Bar.  Groups appear that are similar to these listed, but you may also see different Groups.

Double click on the Group to which you would like to give rights and then click the + sign next to “Events.”  You will see the options for Advanced Event Viewer and Calendar Manager.  Click in the “Full” Box next to each option.

To add the shortcut to the User’s Side Bar:

While in the Security Group, click on the Additional Settings tab.  Right click on the blue task bar to the left and choose “Customize.”  Select Desktop on the left and choose Calendar Manager or Advanced Event Viewer to the right. Drag it over to the blue task bar.  The User would then need to restart the Orion program.

Note that the Advanced Event Viewer can be added locally at each person’s workstation until it can be added to the default menu.
