Fractional Routing Number – Bank Setup

Print this article

The Fractional Routing Number is the nine or 10 digit bank code that is used to identify the bank and assist the transfer of funds. The first two digits are the prefix city where the bank is located. The third and fourth digits are the bank’s ID. The fifth digit is the issuing bank’s branch number. The last four digits are the Fed Bank ID.

In most cases the Fractional Routing Number is already preprinted on your checks in the upper right corner. In some cases Orion will print this number for you if the check style is set up to print it. (It was used in the past on manual check processing).
