The Check Number field is a numeric field and will not accept alpha characters. Instead, you may want to establish a number combination to distinguish between Cashier Checks and Direct Debits – Cashier Checks could start with 98 and Direct Debits could start with 99. For example, you could use 98000001 for your first Cashier Check and 99000001 for your first Direct Debit.
